No total ban of the chemical group PFAS

For the meeting of the Economic Council of the CDU e. V. with the Green Party Chairman Omid Nouripour in the main representative office of RWE on 11.10.2023 in Berlin, high-ranking representatives of 13 well-known industrial companies were invited, including the Managing Director of Fietz Automotive GmbH, Mr. Erik Peters.

His mission: What is the position of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen party on the subject of the PFAS ban? Will there be a total ban on this group of chemicals?

The good news: There will not be a total ban!

In order to implement the energy turnaround and plans of the government regarding the Green Deal, the expansion of the semiconductor industry, the replacement of gas with hydrogen, etc., a separate consideration of this group of substances must be considered with regard to PFAS.

Prior to this meeting, a top-level meeting with the chemical industry was held at the Federal Chancellery on September 27, 2023. There, too, the conclusion regarding PFAS was that a total ban of PFAS is not planned and would not be supported by the Federal Government.
