Membranes that make a difference
– Precision from Fietz

The Fietz Group supplies membranes made of high-quality polyurethane (FiPur®) and elastomers (FiLomer®) that ensure maximum performance in hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial applications. They combine excellent sealing properties, high elasticity, and a long service life – even under extreme pressure and temperature conditions. Fietz Poroflon® membrane filters made of porous PTFE serve as pressure equalization elements or enable controlled degassing.

Fietz Membranes at a Glance

Flat Membranes

Thin, flexible membranes – most commonly used as sealing elements or partition walls
Applications include pumps, valves, or as protective elements

Reinforced Membranes

Polyurethane or elastomer membranes that are additionally reinforced with fabric or fiber layers – improve stability, tear resistance, and service life

Special membranes (e.g., chemical-resistant, temperature-resistant)

Membranes with special properties for extreme requirements, e.g., resistant to aggressive media or very high temperatures

Composite membranes

Combination of different materials for optimized functionality, e.g., flexible outer layer with a thicker core

Elastomer membranes

Membranes made of various elastomers (e.g., NBR, FKM, EPDM) – each with specific properties regarding resistance to oils, chemicals, ozone, and temperature

Fietz Poroflon® Membrane Filters

Porous PTFE is manufactured using a pressing and sintering process. The porosity is created through a combination of pressure and temperature control processes (sintering). Subsequent mechanical machining of the semi-finished product yields the desired geometry, such as a flat disc with a filtering function.

Poroflon® membranes are used for ventilation, pressure equalization, or the separation of chemical substances. Poroflon® membranes are chemically and UV-resistant, anti-adhesive, hydrophobic, and exhibit dielectric properties.
