Sustainability
As a medium-sized, family-run company, sustainability is the foundation for the company’s continued existence and economic success. However, the focus of a company committed to sustainability should not be on maximizing profit, but on ensuring long-term viability.
It is important to the Fietz Group to fulfill its social, environmental, and economic responsibilities so that future generations can live at least as well as we do today.
Therefore, a conscious approach to the environment and its protection, as well as respectful cooperation, are key objectives firmly anchored in the Fietz Group’s mission statement. For this reason, the Fietz Group has invested in several forward-looking projects.

New heating system with heat recovery
The heating system at the main plant in Burscheid is replaced with a new condensing boiler. Two compressed air compressors with heat recovery are installed to support the heating system. The result: Gas consumption drops by 70%.2021
Photovoltaic system at the Burscheid site
A 530 kW photovoltaic system is installed on the rooftops of the entire main plant in Burscheid. This supplies approximately 20–25% of the electricity demand. In 2023, this generated approximately 450,000 kWh of electricity and saved approximately 300 tons of CO2.2022
Photovoltaic system at the Radevormwald site
A 331 kW PV system was commissioned on the rooftops of Fietz Thermoplast GmbH. In 2023, approximately 120,000 kWh of electricity were generated, saving approximately 80 tons of CO2.2023
New heating system at the Burscheid press shop
The heating system at the Burscheid press shop was replaced. This has led to a reduction in gas consumption of approximately 60%. Additionally, 6,000-liter hot water storage tanks were installed, which can be heated with electricity from the photovoltaic system in the future, thereby further reducing the load on the heating system.2024
Expansion of the photovoltaic system at the Radevormwald site
The PV system at the Radevormwald injection molding plant has been expanded. The main plant is being expanded by 120 kW using the roof surfaces of the new warehouse. Additionally, the new production hall for FiPur products will also be equipped with 90 kW of PV capacity.2025
CO2-neutral warehouse and logistics hall
At the Radevormwald site, the “green” warehouse, which has been under construction since 2022, has been completed. This facility not only quadruples storage capacity but is also operated entirely CO2-neutrally using a heat pump, underfloor heating, and PV support.Current and Planned Sustainability Projects
Vehicle Fleet
The electrification of the fleet continues to progress. The Fietz Group has already put 14 charging points into operation. Four of these are charging stations that have been made available to the public. The Fietz Group’s fuel consumption and associated CO2 emissions have been reduced by 67% since 2021.
Material recycling
The Fietz Group returns approximately 14% of the collected PTFE waste to the recycling industry. At the Radevormwald injection molding plant, sprues are either reused – if agreed upon with our customers – or sold to the recycling industry.

Installation of an absorption air conditioning system
at our main plant in Burscheid, which converts the excess heat from the compressors into cooling for the air conditioning of our CNC production hall during the summer.
