Back-up rings for externally or internally sealing use in closed and slotted design up to 500 mm outside diameter as well as in spiral design up to 2,000 mm outside diameter in every profile dimension

Un-slitted backup rings (e.g PTSM) are used in applications where greater loads are to be expected because they provide an even support along the entire bearing surface.

Slitted backup rings are mainly used for areas of medium loads and unfavorable installation conditions of inner and outer sealing layouts.

Spiral backup rings are recommended at extreme temperatures. Because the backup ring can expand and contract - thanks to the spiral geometry – without changing the inner or outer diamter. Thus the function of the backup ring is unimpaired by changing temperatures.
